Dennis G. Stennes

PETERSON, MINN. - Dennis G. Stennes, 57, of Peterson, died Sunday, January 18, 2004, at the Lewiston Villa, in Lewiston, Minn. Dennis was born on September 1, 1946, in Lanesboro, Minn. to Jerome and Mildred (Hilden) Stennes. He was raised in the Tawney area north of Mabel, Minn. Dennis graduated from Mabel High School in 1964. On June 10, 1967, Dennis married Lynda Christopherson, they were later divorced. Dennis worked at the Rushford Creamery as a milk hauler; Schuelers Mink Farm; United Building Center; Bakken Ready Mix; Carlson Ready Mix; and Riverside Electronics, all in Rushford. Dennis enjoyed rides in the country, antiques, Country and Western music, and most of all spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by three sons: Jim Stennes, Gary (Kristine) Stennes and Eric Stennes, all of Rushford; one daughter, Nichole Stennes of Rushford; three grandchildren: Sawyer, Madeline, and Jacob; two brothers: Mervin (Pat) Stennes of Rushford and Russell (Joyce) Stennes of Mabel; one sister, Diane (Bill) Hanlon of Harmony, Minn.; and his former wife and very special friend, Lynda Stennes. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2004, at the Scheie Lutheran Church in rural Mabel, Minn. with the Rev. Mary Waudby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Homes - Rushford Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. The family prefers memorials to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
