Deborah Jean Bradford

Deborah Jean (Placek) Bradford, 73, of Rushford, MN died on October 8, 2022. She was born on February 8, 1949, to Frank and Mildred (Wolfe) Placek in Austin, MN.

Deborah was a graduate of Austin High School in Austin, MN. On November 7, 1970, she was united in marriage with Michael Bradford. She was a bank teller for many years at Home Federal bank in Austin, MN and Peoples State Bank in Austin, MN. She also worked at ShopKo in Austin, MN. Upon moving to Stockton, MN she worked at WC Printing in Winona, MN and she finished her career working at the Country Market in Winona, MN.

Deborah’s biggest accomplishment in life was having one of her poems published in the Readers Digest Magazine. She was an avid writer, she especially liked writing children’s books. Deborah was a very crafty lady and could turn anything into a work of art. In her spare time, you would find her reading a book or going camping with her late husband of 51 years.

She is survived by her three children, Amy (Bobby) Benke of Stockton, MN, Sheri (Dennis) Overland of Rushford, and Josh Bradford of Chisholm, MN; eight grandchildren: Nathan, Autumn, Madelyn, Johan, Jorden, Joshua, Hailee, and Bayleigh; brothers Tom (Sandy) Placek and Mark (Julie) Placek, many nieces and nephews, and by her grand-puppys that she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Barb Hall.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Rushford, MN for all of their kindness and hard work over the past 3 years.

There will be a visitation for Deborah on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, MN. The funeral service will take place on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford at 11 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
