David Mierau

David Wayne Mierau, of Winona, MM and formerly of Orcas Island, WA passed away September 1, 2023.  He was born December 2, 1972, in Fridley, MN. Dave graduated from Rushford High School in 1991.  Following high school, he attended the University of Minnesota and Mankato State University.

He loved traveling, making it to 49 states, Canada, Europe, and Thailand. He also loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting.  He was formerly the Director of Facilities at Orcas Island Schools. Dave was proud of coaching the Orcas Island Kings youth football team.  He was a kind and gentle soul who helped anyone in need.

David was preceded in death by his mother Sharon Anderson Mierau.  Survivors include his father, Larry Mierau and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friend Dick Sorenson.  A private family memorial will be scheduled at a future date.
