David Heim

David Norman Heim, 85 of Eden Prairie and formerly of St. Charles, passed away peacefully, Thursday, April 11, 2024.  

Dave was born April 17, 1938 in Winona to Lloyd and Marion (Uhl) Heim.  On June 25 1960, he married Barbara Laudon at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba.   Dave was a farmer all throughout his life.  In 1968 he began Heim Fertilizer and shortly after, opened South Branch Dairy with his brother, Bill which was one of the first milk parlors in Minnesota. 

Dave was active in the community throughout the years.   He was a dedicated member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and eventually St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.  He served on the St. Charles School Board as well as the Jaycees, active in leadership positions in both.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Jill Heim (Gary Montante), Chris (Kim) Heim, Eric (Jennifer) Heim and Amy (Craig) Pabich; grandchildren, Vincenza, Quinn, Sydney, Andrew, Dagan, Dalton, Noah and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Emerson and Cole; brother, Bill L. (Margaret) Heim; brother-in-law, Pete Estabrook, and nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Estabrook.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Reverend Jonathan Fasnacht officiating.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday at Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – St. Charles and one hour prior to Mass at church.  He will be laid to rest at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
