David Arlis Harrison, 88 of St Charles, MN passed away on Thursday July 3rd, 2025 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN.
David was born in St. Charles to Clinton S and Agnes (Mckay) Harrison on November 26, 1936, on the family farm in Fillmore County. He was the youngest of twelve children. He was raised in the St. Charles area, attended country school and then graduated in 1956 from St. Charles High School. On September 1, 1956, David was united in marriage with Mary Jane Loppnow. They made their life together on the farm and raised their family. David farmed most of his life and also worked at the Waxwhaler Mechanic shop and sales, St. Charles Condensing Company, Walter Lumberyard and retired from the All American Co-op. David had a deep faith in God. He was an active member of the Berea Moravian Church, he participated in many activities, sang in the choir and served on the church board. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, camping, watching the grandchildren and great grandchildren play around at the farm but also enjoyed watching them play sports and was a collector of toy tractors. David loved drinking coffee with his friends in Utica and enjoyed taking a drive to look at the other farm land.
David is survived by his two sons: Jeff (Cheryl) Harrison of Stewartville, MN, Tim (Cammy) Harrison of Rose Creek, MN; five grandchildren: Laura (Jeremy) Jackson, Amy (Michael) Gehrking, T.J. (Laura) Harrison, Greg (BillyJo Barwald) Harrison and Matthew Harrison; five great grandchildren: Logan, Grady, Nora, Alex and Nathan. He is also survived by one brother: Roger Harrison from Colorado. David was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane (April 24, 2018), his parents and ten brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM (noon) on Sunday July 13th, 2025 at Berea Moravian Church in rural St. Charles with Pastor Jodi Heim officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church 2 hours before service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
