Daniel J Jacquart, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday April 23rd 2026 at Sauer Health Care where he resided.
Dan was born at home in Bessemer Michigan on September 20th 1935. He was born to Lionel and Mary (Petranek) Jacquart, the oldest of ten children. Dan attended Luther L Wright High School in Ironwood MI where he graduated in 1953. Dan enlisted in the Army and served from 1954 to 1957 as a Korean War Veteran. He was very proud of his service to his country.
Dan met Marlene Reichel, the love of his life, at D.O. James in Chicago IL where they both worked. They later married in Racine WI, on September 20th 1958. They were married for 63 years and were the proud parents of four children.
Dan was a mechanical engineer and was later employed at Hamilton Beach where he was involved in the design of one of the first electric coffee makers, Mr Coffee. He was also later employed at Bradley Washfountain where he was involved in the design of the basin sinks found in many schools and public bathrooms. Dan later moved with his family to Buffalo City WI and was employed at Lake Center Industries (TRW) until his retirement.
Dan enjoyed woodworking, designing and building a wood kayak that he was able to use on the Mississippi river. Dan also collected Victorinox Swiss Army knives becoming a founding member and past president of the collectors society. He also collected coins. He enjoyed attending many sports games for his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys. Dan loved the Chicago Bears.
He was a former member of the Buffalo County Historical Society and a Buffalo County Board member. He was a member of Cochrane VFW Post 10406. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fountain City WI where he was a former church council member.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Marlene. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Michael (Mickey), twins Lorraine and Loretta, and his brother Richard.
He is survived by his children Denise (Rick) Baumann, Jeanette (Terry) Duellman, Michael (Teri) Jacquart, and John (Kim) Jacquart. He was Papa to grandchildren: Angela (Preston) Mensink, Gretchen (Gary Prondzinski) Block, Janna (Andrew Borck) Drazkowski, Hayley (Aaron Gillard) Duellman, Alex (Jennifer) Jacquart, Arik (Sara) Jacquart, Nathan (Heather)Jacquart, Matthew (Libby) Jacquart, Jeremiah (Amanda) Jacquart, and Abbey (Cotis) Macon. Step grandchildren: Kenny (Ashley) LaBarre, Christian (Dusty) LaBarre, and Nick LaBarre. Dan is survived by 13 great grandchildren. Sisters, Mary Jo (Tom) Sandell, Geri (Richard) Moore, Nannette Bush, brothers Tom (Lynn) Jacquart and Fred Jacquart, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dan is also survived by Marlene’s extended family in the Chicago area. Go Bears!
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 30th from 4 – 6 p.m., at Hoff Celebration of Life Center – Goodview. A private service will be held the following day with burial in the Buffalo City Cemetery with military honors.
We would like to thank the staff at Sauer Health Care who were always so caring with dad. Always giving an introvert his space while still caring for him. We would also like to thank the residents who took dad under their wings. We extend a special thank you to Winona Health Hospice who provided such wonderful care for dad in his final days. They are all angels in disguise.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to either Cochrane VFW Post 10406 or to Winona Health Hospice.
