Dale Charles Lauritzen, 83 of Houston, MN passed Monday, September 14, 2026.
Dale was born June 8, 1943 in Spring Grove, MN to Edwin Lauritzen and Mary (Strupp) Lauritzen. Dale married Marie Krehnke in 1967. They had 4 children together. Dale later married the love of his life, Lois Kruse on December 3, 2005 in Houston County, MN. Together they had Patches and Tasha- the true definition of Man's best friends. These two girls were the best dogs and Dale and Lois were almost never seen without them.
Dale worked over 50 years for the Local 150 Union out of Illinois. He enjoyed being outside and operating heavy machinery. He notes the bulldozer was his favorite to run. Dale could be found often playing ball with Patches and Tasha or taking them on another car ride. He enjoyed visits with family and he couldn't resist a good debate about politics.
Dale is survived by his grandchildren- Jason (Megan) Lauritzen of Cashton, WI; James (Megan) Lauritzen of Sparta, WI; Jessie (Amanda) Lauritzen of Midland, GA; Alex (Sonia) Lauritzen of Cataract, WI; John Lauritzen Jr of Orlando, FL; Britani Lauritzen of Sparta, WI; Natalia Spencer of Mauston, WI; Izabella Spencer- Lauritzen of Mauston, WI; and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Elden (Nancy) Lauritzen of Martinsville, IL; sister-in-law Cynthia Lauritzen of Iowa; and several step- children and their families.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lois (Kruse) Lauritzen; his first wife Marie (Krehnke) Lauritzen; his daughter Mary Joyce; his three sons Jason Roy, Alan Dale, and John Charles SR; his infant great granddaughter Everly; his parents Edwin and Mary (Strupp) Lauritzen; his sister Joycelyn and his twin brother Dean Lauritzen; his stepson Randy Gillette; and the best girls he could have ever asked for- Patches and Tasha.
A graveside service for Dale will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, September 25, 2026 at Yucatan Community Cemetery.
