Charles "Chuck" Swing, age 72 of St. Charles, passed away on Thursday, April 13 at the Seasons Hospice House of Rochester. Chuck was born on June 1, 1950 in Cincinnati, OH, the son of Clifford "Ken" and Mabel (Riddle) Swing and was raised in the the city of Hamilton, OH, along with his brother, Scott. Chuck was introduced to Brenda Smith in grade school and although he didn't know it, yet, Chuck had met the love of his life. Chuck and Brenda graduated from high school together in 1969 and were married in 1970. Together they shared over 50 years of dedication and were blessed with one daughter, Tracie.

Chuck spent nearly 40 years running computer operations for Cincinnati Gas & Electric before relocating with Brenda to Woodbury, MN in 2002. They eventually moved to the St. Charles area in 2016 to be close to Tracie and her family. Chuck was a very active runner in his early years and was an avid fan of good music including: hard rock, classic rock, and rock 'n' roll in general. He was also a follower of movie and films from the John Ford and Alfred Hitchcock eras of the 1940's and 50's and had a particular affinity for all Stephen King novels.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda; daughter, Tracie Kozak; grandchildren, Tatem and Tommy Kozak; brother, Scott Swing of Florence, KY; sister-in-law, Jan Clark; brothers-in-law, Tom Smith and Tim (Mary) Smith; as well as his other extended family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford "Ken" and Mabel Swing; son-in-law, Steven "Steve" Kozak; brother-in-law, Allan Clark.

Honoring Chuck's wishes, a private family service will take place at a later date.
