Cy was born at home on the family farm near Garber, Iowa to Frank and Ocie (Hansel) Morley on August 19, 1931. After graduating from Colesburg High School in Colesburg, Iowa at age 16, he worked before enlisting in the Marine Corp in January 1951. Being the only one with a high school diploma, he was selected to work in intelligence in the Marine Artillery and served in both Korea and Occupied Japan. After leaving the service, Cy attended college at the University of Iowa where he met the love of his life, Joanne Berry. They were married on September 14, 1956, in St. Paul Methodist Church in Waukon, Iowa. The couple moved several times before settling in Chatfield where Cy was employed as District Manager of Interstate Power Company.
Cy served on the Chatfield City Council and acted as vice-mayor of Chatfield and was a lifetime member with the American Legion, VFW, DAV, and the 1st Marine Division. He was the founder of the Chatfield Jaycees, co-founder of the Chatfield Volunteer Service (EMT), and member of the Chatfield Rotary Club, and the Fish and Game Club. Cy enjoyed hunting and fishing and took a special, successful, 70th birthday trip to far north Quebec hunting caribou. He was devoted to his family and grandchildren enjoying trips to the St. Louis and Columbus zoos, playing Rummikub and watching movies in Albert Lea, dolphin tours in Port Aransas, Texas, and watching wildlife at the couples' lake home in Ely.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne, son Steve (Lynda), daughters Dr. Beth Lee (Dr. Stephen) and Laura Jean, four grandchildren: Alex Lee, Andrew Morley, Sarah Morley, and Katie Lee, and one great granddaughter, Hannah Joan Morley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda Morley Keck, and daughter Carol Ann.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will take place in the Chatfield City Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Chatfield American Legion and V.F.W. members.
