Carol Jeanne Stennes, 83, of St. Charles died Friday, January 5, 2024 at Whitewater Health Services in St. Charles.  Carol was born to Clarence and Gladys (Scharf) Mason near St. Charles on May 12, 1940. She was a St. Charles resident her entire life, graduating from St. Charles High School in 1958. On May 2, 1959 Carol and Duane “Dewey” Stennes were married in Rochester. Following high school graduation Carol attended Winona Secretarial School. She  worked for Mayo Clinic and Rochester Credit Untion, before working the next 39 years for National Farm Organization. 

Carol served on the St. Charles Planning and Zoning board, Library board, Minnesota State Dairy Board, Past Senior Regent of the St. Charles Moose Lodge,  and was a member of the St. Charles United Methodist Church.  Carol enjoyed crossword puzzles, boating, time with family, and camping.  Carols greatest fun was motorcycle trips across the country, visiting 49 states with her beloved Dewey. 

Survivors include her two daughters, Dawn (Kent) Glover of St. Charles and Lori Jonsgaard of Rochester, grandchildren; Kyle (Sarah) Glover, Jeret (Brooke) Glover, Cody Glover, and Jesse (Katherine) Jonsgaard, great-grandchildren; Gavin, Bailee, Zack, Emmilyn, Zoey, Emma Rose, Beau, and Emmitt and a sister, Claudia Henry of Rochester, brother Glen(Sharon) Mason of Winona, sister-in-law Pat Walker, Englewood Ohio.

Preceded in death by her husband Dewey in 2015, parents, a sister, Shirley, brother’s-in-law, Tom Walker and Charlie Henry, and a nephew Craig Henry. 

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles with Pastor Gerhardt Miller of the St. Charles United Methodist Church officiating. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. www.hofffuneral.com.
