Brian Larry Meier

Brian Larry Meier, 59, passed away on June 29, 2026, from cancer at Mayo Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1966, in Winona to James Meier and Mary Ann (Wieczorek) McDonald. He graduated from Winona Senior High School and Minnesota State College Southeast. He had worked for McDonalds as a Manager and other retail businesses over the years. He also was partners with his brother John doing DJ entertainment for 15 years, he also been a collector most of his life. Brian enjoyed video gaming and collecting systems that he connected well with his nephews. Brian has been a fighter since being a young diabetic, going through the years receiving a gift of 3 Kidney and two pancreas transplants over his life. He enjoyed many activities playing softball and dart league and hanging with his friends and family events. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Gopher football. Brian donated by collecting can tabs and from others to support Ronald McDonald’s house. We will miss his kind heart, quick wit, sense of humor and that augh he had.

Brian is survived by his siblings, John (Kristi) Meier, Dan (Heidi) Meier, Jeff (Maria) McDonald, Brian (Vicki) McDonald, Steve (Gale) McDonald, Dennis (Michelle) Oldendorf, Brenda (David) Markegard, and Daryl (Heather Gillund) Oldendorf; nephews and nieces include Jacob Meier, Kelsie Horst, Corey McDonald, Kyle McDonald, Zack Meier, Collin Meier, Daniel Meier Jr., Kaya Smith, Jarret McDonald, Korinne McDonald, Kendra McDonald, Christopher Gady, Jacob Peil, and Josh Peil, Benjamin Markegard, Hunter Oldendorf Jordan Markegard, Matthew (Steyce) Oldendorf, Mike (Yuwana) Oldendorf, Wesley Oldendorf, Samantha Oldendorf; uncle and Aunts Jimmy Wieczorek, Larry (Rita) Wieczorek, and Tom (Kris) Wieczorek, Mike (Bonnie) Courtier, Bette (Dave) Weinmann, Pat (Mark) Young

He was preceded in death by parents Jack and Mary Ann McDonald, James and Sharon Meier and sister Sherry Oldendorf. Aunts and Uncles, Wayne (Buddy) Wieczorek and David (Elaine) Wieczorek;, Don (Dixie) Peshon, Bud (Eileen) Schaefer, Wally (Margie) Peterson, Joan Wieczorek. Bill and Richard Meier. The families are having a celebration of Life for Brian at the American Legion in Winona, MN Sunday August 2nd between 1 – 4 PM. Please come and share your memories with our family of Brian.
