Bob Roberts

     Robert John “Bob” Roberts, 55, of St. Charles and of Dovray, MN died Saturday October 12, 2002 at the Emergency Room of Westbrook Health Center in Westbrook, MN.     Bob was born April 9, 1947 in Viola Township of Olmsted County to Willis and Wilhelmina (Kraeger) Roberts. He attended Elgin Schools. As a young man he worked as a farm laborer and on road construction in Iowa. Bob and Virginia “Gini” Bradley were married on November 19, 1966 in Plainview. Following their marriage he worked for Westinghouse and Minnesota Elevator, installing elevators. In February of 1998 Bob was disabled with a severe heart attack. He has made his home in St. Charles for many years and recently in Dovray and St. Charles.      Bob was a member of the St. Charles Moose Lodge and the National Elevator, Inc., Local Union #9. Survivors include his wife Gini, three children, Jeffrey of Arcadia, WI; Melissa (Craig) Gednalski of Clarkfield; and Erica Roberts of Appleton, MN, six grandchildren, Blake; Paige; Briana; Rachel; Brooke; and Katelyn, two brothers, Gerald (Ann) Roberts of Eyota and Ivan (Nancy) Roberts of Elba, three sisters, Joan Counter of Bellchester; Elaine (Al) Jacobson and Betty (Richard) Whitcomb both of Rochester. His parents three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.      Funeral Services will be 11AM Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home’s – St. Charles Chapel with the Rev. James Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in rural Viola. Friends may call from 4 – 8 PM Tuesday and one hour before services Wednesday at Hoff Funeral Home’s – St. Charles Chapel.
