In Loving Memory
Benita ‘Bunny’ Louise Vaughn
MINNEISKA—Benita “Bunny” Louise Vaughn, 79, of Minneiska died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home.
Bunny was born June 26, 1946, in Las Vegas, NV, to Ernest and Mary Louise (McCarthy) Nordsving. She grew up in Winona and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1964. She met Victor “Vic” Vaughn in December of 1964. They fell in love and married six months later May 22, 1965. She loved her Vic. Bunny kept a neat house and was a fabulous cook. Vic was always ready to lend a helping hand around the house or in the kitchen. They loved to dance and were frequently complimented by their grace on the dance floor. Bunny enjoyed decorating her house, and her grandkids enjoyed seeing the house décor change with the seasons. She loved having her family home for celebrations. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved them very much.
Bunny will best be remembered for her work at Glass Replacement Company. Along with Vic and Pat, they were the trio who helped so many with their glass needs. Bunny was knowledgeable in all aspects of their business, and it was often said, “you need to go talk to Bunny about that, she knows”. The company was run for 31 years, with retirement on December 31st, 2014. Bunny was usually the friendly voice on the phone at Glass Replacement Company, and she enjoyed hearing how she had helped her customers after she retired. She was a member of the Elks Club and enjoyed meeting her friends at Buck’s Bar every Wednesday evening.
Bunny loved people and wanted to hear all about them. She was quick to give a compliment and a smile. She frequently asked how families were doing, and loved to hear about new babies, careers, and milestones. Bunny will be remembered for the way she made people feel special.
Bunny is survived by her children, Eric (Valerie) Vaughn, Vicky Vaughn; grandchildren, Audreanna, Renata, Aiden, Nadia and Christian; siblings Ray (Lori) Curfman, Sharon Gora, Allen (Kathy) Nordsving, Amy Schultz, and Shelly (Bill) Leaf.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Vic, and an infant daughter, Tracy Lynn Vaughn.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hoff Funeral Home (3480 Service Dr. Winona, MN) with visitation beginning at 10am. Private family interment will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
