Barbara Jean Moran

Barbara J. Moran, age 81, of Eyota, died at Whitewater Health Service in St. Charles on April 18, 2024.

Barbara Jean Moran was born on September 2, 1942 in rural Peterson, MN, the daughter of Ervin and Lois (Jenson) Moran. As a child, she greatly enjoyed fishing with her grandfather. She attended school in Peterson and was a 1961 graduate of Peterson High School. She furthered her education at Winona State, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. Barb worked at Winona State during her attendance, La Cresent State Bank, Alexandria Technical College and most recently was a floral designer at Grandma’s Gardens.

Barb had a strong love for dogs, especially Shih Tzus. She was dedicated to rescuing, finding them good homes or adopting them herself. Her creativity was seen in her floral arranging which brought her joy over the years.

Barb is lovingly survived by her two sisters Patricia (Clifford) Heiden of Rushford and Mary Connaughty of Eyota, one brother-in-law Duane Sveen of Lanesboro and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sister Joan Sveen in 2007 and her brother-in-law Thomas Connaughty in 2017. She was also preceded in death by two nephews Thomas Sveen and Michael Connaughty.

A celebration of Barb’s life will be held at a later date.
