Astrid Marie Yurmanovich, left this world on May 9, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 15, 1935, in Chicago, IL, Astrid was the beloved daughter of Gustave and Margaret Carlson and spent her early years growing up in Lisle, IL.

Astrid was no stranger to challenges; born with physical disabilities affecting her knees, legs, and feet, she faced life head-on. With determination and grit, she overcame her obstacles, embracing life with a spirit that inspired those around her. She shared 43 wonderful years of love and partnership with her late husband, Raymond Joseph Yurmanovich, whom she married on January 29, 1966, in LaGrange, IL. The couple lived in Woodridge, IL for 37 years.

Astrid enjoyed diving into crossword puzzles, working on jigsaw puzzles, tending to her garden, and sewing.

Astrid is survived by her loving daughter, Christina (Brett) Bailey; her cherished grandchildren, Danielle (Ben McCrary) Eberhard, Will (Talia Horn) Eberhard, and Jacob Eberhard. She also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; brother, Robert Carlson;  and sister, Beatrice Carlson.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Astrid's caregivers, Sally Solem, Ashley Rendon, Julie Goldtrap, and Lexy Dawley, whose kindness and dedication were invaluable during her last year.

Details for the celebration of life will be available soon.
