Arville Holtegaard

St. Charles, Arville (Art) Holtegaard, 82, of St. Charles died Friday morning November 28, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, following a stroke. He was born November 14, 1921 in Golden Valley County, Montana to Oscar and Minda (Benson) Holtegaard. Art and Georgia Felt were married June 9, 1948 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed in Utica before moving to Elgin in 1961. They later retired from farming and moved to Lewiston and later to St. Charles. Following his retiring from farming, Art worked at Lewiston Implement up until the time of his death. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles and had been a member of the St. Charles American Legion Post #190. Art loved to bowl, and was bowling at the time of his stroke this past Tuesday. Survivors include his wife, Georgia, three children, Loni (Allan) Thompson of Lewiston; Arvin (Becky) Holtegaard and Jerry (Cheryl) Holtegaard both of Dover six grandchildren; Tracy, Mike, Elyse, Amber Tammy and Nicole, 15 great-grandchildren two brothers; Odin Holtegaard of Spring Valley and Irvin (Arlene) Holtegaard of Lanesboro, four sisters; Benora Smith of Rochester, Aletta (Arnold) Hatlevig and Myrtle Hatlevig both of Peterson and Phyllis (Jim) Potter of St. Charles. A granddaughter Lori Holzer, and three brothers Raymond, Leonard and Conrad preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in St. Charles with Pastor Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles. Friends may call from 9AM until time of services at the church. Hoff Funeral Home's ? St. Charles Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
