Annette Polzin

November 11, 1932 — June 28, 2025

Annette Polzin (Urban), died on June 28, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on November 11, 1932, in Rochester, MN, to William and Anna Hardtke, Annette spent her early years on the family farm north of Eyota, surrounded by the beauty of rural life.

Annette cherished her family, including her late husband Luther Polzin, whom she married on May 10, 1952, and who passed away in 1986. She later married Lowell Urban on March 26, 2001, and together they resided in Eyota until moving to assisted living in Chatfield, where Lowell also eventually passed in 2022. She is survived by her beloved son Alan Polzin, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Throughout her life, Annette wore many hats. She attended Dover High School and worked in various roles, including farming, working at Rush Products, and caring for others as a nurse at Rochester State Hospital and later as a home health aide. She loved helping Lowell maintain their farm and enjoyed trips with him, diving into old westerns, and getting lost in her favorite books. A proud member of the American Legion in Eyota, Annette remained active and engaged, even as she moved into assisted living and then to the Chosen Valley Care Center in May 2025.

Annette is survived by her family, including her daughter, Diane Holzer of Plainview; grandson, Kevin Doherty of Owatonna; great-grandchildren, Cohen and Aedan Doherty; son, Alan Polzin of Chatfield; granddaughters, Chris (Phil) Hayek of Dexter, MN, Becky (Laura) Wyness of Hollywood, FL; great-granddaughter, Adelaide Wyness; granddaughter, Jessica (Brian) Pate of Ludowici, GA; great-grandkids, Emma and Wyatt Pate. Her granddaughters, Becky and Jessica, along with their families are unable to attend the service due to residing far away, but they hold her memory dearly and send their loving thoughts from afar.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands; siblings, Charles Hardtke and Mary Pedersen; son, Terry Polzin; and grandson, Scott Doherty.

A visitation will be held on July 11, 2025 at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles, MN at 1:00p.m. The memorial service will begin at 1:30p.m. Annette will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Dover.

The family kindly requests donations be made to the American Legion of Eyota or the Evergreen Cemetery of Dover in Annette's memory.
