Annah Rose (Board) Jonsgaard, age 89, of Winona, MN, died Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, surrounded by family
Annah was born August 13, 1936, in Lewiston, MN, the daughter of Edward and Vida (Miller) Board. On October 16, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harold Jonsgaard in Rushford. The couple built a home together on Old Homer Road, overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River. Annah worked at Knitting Mills for a few years, but worked primarily as an accomplished domestic engineer. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church, and the Red Hat Society. Annah loved camping, ceramics, and growing flowers and vegetables in her garden. She was an avid collector of loons and birds. She also enjoyed riding UTVs, taking UTV trips, and getting muddy! She went on many sister trips as well. Harold and Annah took many family trips in the motorhome, and they loved travelling together. Annah also liked to go swimming, boating, and snowmobiling. She looked forward to hunting season and staying at deer camp every year. She was also an excellent cook and baker, and loved to make cards. Annah was known to stay out late playing cards with her friends, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey.
She is survived by her 3 children: Rodney (Sue) Jonsgaard, Roseannah (Ricky) Nagel, and Lisa (John) Waadevig; 3 grandchildren: Jason (Joni) Jonsgaard, Kari (Matt) Gordon, and Ethan (Emily) Waadevig; great-grandchildren: Bailey and Brady Jonsgaard, Dylan and Paige Gordon, Bennett and Evelyn Waadevig; brother, Edward (Roberta) Board; sisters: Kathleen (Bill) Hinton, Elizabeth Lassen, and Maxine Daniel, and Cora Sue (Chuck) Perry; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brothers: Pedar, and Delbert; sister-in-law, Sharon Board; brothers-in-law, Richard Lassen, and Jerome Daniel.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, at 6:00pm at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Winona. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 6:00pm. Interment will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Stockton, MN.
