Our precious Ann’s ‘heart of gold’ stopped and she passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026.
Ann was born on July 11, 1955, to Richard ‘Dick’ and Marie Williamson. She is survived by her siblings, Karen Williamson (Bruce Burnham) and Jim Williamson (Therese Cowl); her cherished longtime friend, Rick Wetzel; and many cousins and friends.
Ann started her nursing career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, but quickly returned to her beloved Winona and worked for Winona Health for many years. She was Dr. Mulrooney’s nurse and ended her career in Women’s Health.
Family, faith, and her friends were of utmost importance to Ann. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed sending and receiving greeting cards, Christmas (her gifts were always beautifully wrapped and decorated), the Minnesota State Fair, her pet squirrels (Charlie, Fred Jr., and George) whom she fed daily on her deck, stock car races, car rides, plays, movies, golf, Danielle Steel novels, and the Minnesota Vikings. She also loved growing flowers on her deck and was an expert at crossword puzzles.
Ann will be remembered for her fierce independence, kindness, thoughtfulness, cleverness, and “spunk.”
Family offers special thanks to Rick for his companionship and care, to Mary Vang, CNP, and the entire dialysis staff, Winona ER, and Gunderson Health System for their exceptional care.
We would be honored if you would join us to celebrate Ann’s life on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00am at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Winona. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, please join us for a luncheon. Burial will be held in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family for future charitable contributions per Ann’s wishes.
Please surprise someone and send a greeting card and make them happy! Ann would like that!
