Alvira Wissel

Alvira (Rivers) Wissel, 90, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Rollingstone, died Wednesday December 17, 2003 at Gables Assisted Living. She was born to Edward and Johanna (Johns) Rivers on January 8, 1913 in Rollingstone. She married Jack Wissel of Rollingstone. They made their home in Dayton. Alvira was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Dayton since 1945.Survivors include three daughters, Jackie (Tom) Mayer of Wake Forrest, NC; Jill (Bill) Rister of Fort Collins, CO and Jan (Mike) Wollenhaupt of Miamisburg, OH; four grandchildren, Jenny (Jim) Gill of Ravenna, MI; Stacy (Erik) Davis of Findlay, OH; Julie (Dennis) Diaz of Fort Collins, CO and Brad Rister of Hermosa Beach, CA, three great-grandchildren, Zachary Gill, Connor Diaz and Kailey Diaz. Alvira was one of nine children with two surviving brothers, Art (Martha) Rivers of Vandalia, OH and Paul Rivers of Rochester, MN. There will be a Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. Michael Cronin officiating. Burial will be is Holy Trinity Cemetery next to her husband Jack. Friends may call one hour before services at the church on Monday. Hoff Funeral Home's ?
