RUSHFORD, MN - Muriel D. Britt, 85, of Rushford, MN died on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Gundersen Health in La Crosse, WI.
Muriel was born on June 18, 1931, in Whalan, MN to Daniel and Minerva (Nelson) Hungerholt. She was raised in Whalan where she attended country school. She was united in marriage with Walter Britt on March 17, 1952. Muriel lived nearly all of her adult life in South Rushford. She worked at Winona Fibrite and Rush Products. In her retirement she enjoyed serving people, following her family's activities and cooking for men's golf league at Ferndale. Muriel was a true matriarch to her family and her community. She was a member of Rushford Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son, Walter L. "Bud" Britt of Rushford; daughter-in-law, Leslie Britt of Pahrump, NV; three grandchildren: Kaycee Otteson of Pahrump, NV, Alicia (Nick) Voyatzis of Pasadena, CA and Tyler (Mary) Britt of Dodge Center, MN; four great-grandchildren: Hunter, Chase, Kai, Beau and one on the way; three brothers: Ernie (Betty) Hungerholt of Las Vegas, NV, Duane Hungerholt of Lanesboro, MN and Danny Hungerholt of Rushford; and by one sister, Shirley (Larry) Richman of Pecular, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Keith; two brothers, Luellen Hungerholt and Merlin Hungerholt; two sisters: Irene Overland and Janet Ronnenberg; and other loved one's.
There will be a funeral service for Muriel at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Rushford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the Hongerholt Cemetery in rural Peterson, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

She was our neighbor in "South Rushford" when I was a youngster. She was always friendly and smiling.
Awww.......... Dear Aunt Muriel. I loved visiting with you even though it did not happen near enough. I know I share some of your traits like tenacity, family being important and cooking/baking. I see you sitting at the end of the table sharing a story and giving that look and pointing cuz you meant what you were saying. Love you dearly Aunt Muriel and wishing you a fantastic time with Dad, Uncle Walt, Keith, Irene, Janet, Uncle Merlin and Lena, Jardiene, Velma.........and so many others!
